NFL Recap: Broncos Edge Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Battle

During a defensive struggle on Sunday, the Broncos clinched a 13-11 victory over the winless New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter scoring strike and kicker Wil Lutz provided the game-winning decisive three-pointer to seal the ugly win.

Dominant Display Seals Contest

Despite recording nine sacks against Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 after giving up a two-point play in the third quarter. Interestingly, the Jets managed a mere 82 total net yards during the entire game.

The Denver quarterback, who went 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, led a decisive 12-play, 65-yard possession that culminated in Lutz's short kick with approximately five minutes remaining.

Record Struggles for Jets Offense

In spite of their dismal offensive display, the Jets still had the ball with a chance to score a possible victory. However Fields was sacked on fourth down from the Denver 44 after coach Aaron Glenn chose to attempt the conversion instead of calling on kicker Nick Folk for a long field-goal attempt.

Fields had difficulties throughout, completing just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. The Jets ended up with minus-10 passing yards, the lowest in any game since 1998.

"Our passing game was completely absent," Glenn stated after the game.
